WOULD YOUR CHILD BE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING PINE HILLS FC ACADEMY?
FEASIBILITY STUDY
A number of parents have asked about attending local schools which have specialised football academies or football programmes of excellence. I am considering starting an Academy at Pine Hills Football Club. This would be a selected academy programme, with players participating in Pine Hills teams. This means that we can better manage the players training needs, physical development and playing requirements. It would be run by coaches selected by myself, who will be professional coaches with a track record of developing talent.
I intend that this programme will be run along the same lines as top European Academies, with a relationship to a players academic record, and an all round football education including nutrition, physical, technical and tactical.
The Academy will have its own kit, which will be included in the overall cost. However, the costs of playing in FB competitions is not included in the base price range mentioned in the questionnaire.
Many school programmes have a limited number of games, generally as few as 6 games per year, so players are not testing the skills they are learning in the game environment, a key test arena for football players.
Equally players are pushed physically with programmes that do not consider the players other activities, specifically club demands. I see players come to club training or games with overuse injuries, strains etc. which if not managed properly can do lasting damage to a young person. However, if you try and tell a young player they cannot play at the weekend the likelihood is they will tell you they are fine, or try telling a club coach he/she cannot select a player for a fixture as the player is fatigued due to their training regimen, of 4 days at school added to 2/3 days at club, what is the probable response.
Many of these school programmes utilise coaches who work in the club environment, I know as I am one of them. I would like to you to complete the questionnaire using the link below so that I could gauge the feasibility of running such a venture. Please feel free to forward to friends who you think may have an interest in this type of programme.
Thank you for your time
Kind Regards
Will Allan

Saturday morning Canteen Roster for SSF teams in 2012.
|
The 2012 training schedulehas been updated taking into account the team requests. For SSF teams I have agreed some minor alterations, but have not placed these in this document.
Please see the training field diagram for area allocation.
We ask the Senior teams to respect the fact that Junior teams will be training prior to them and if you wish to warm up prior to your session starting, please do so in an area that is not being utilised.
Please do not stand around on the training area or begin your warm up laps around the training field. Also Junior teams please be aware that the next session is due to start on your area immediately after your concludes. You should plan to finish 3 or 4minutes early, and gather your group for a session wrap up or warm down to allow the next team to set up. The same applies for SSF teams prior to Junior teams.
