Girls Development at PHFC

At Pine Hills FC, our Girls Development Program is built on a strong foundation of commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a lifelong love for the game. We are dedicated to providing a supportive, high-quality environment where girls can grow as players and individuals, regardless of their experience level. Our program focuses on skill development, game understanding and personal growth, and we take pride in the success of our players—whether they are just starting out or progressing through to advanced competition levels. With a proven track record of helping players thrive both on and off the field, Pine Hills FC remains a proud leader in female football development.

Opportunities

At Pine Hills FC, we believe that every player deserves the opportunity to grow and reach their potential, no matter their current skill level. That’s why we offer a range of development opportunities designed to support players at every stage of their journey. These include our Advanced Player Development Pathway, technical development sessions, skills academy, holiday clinics and goalkeeper specific training.

Advanced Player Development Pathway

Designed specifically for our Select teams, our Advanced Player Development Pathway is overseen by our Football and Technical Directors and is for players who demonstrate strong potential and a desire to challenge themselves at a higher level. This pathway provides a structured environment that supports individual growth through advanced coaching, competitive opportunities and tailored development plans. More information can be found here.

Technical Development Sessions

As Pine Hills FC is committed to developing all of our female players, we also provide technical sessions for our U8–U13 non-Select teams. Delivered by our Girls Technical Coach, Jason Tomins, these sessions run throughout Terms 2 and 3 and focus on building core technical abilities such as ball control, passing, and movement. Introduced as part of our 2023 development program and continued through 2024, these sessions have become a key component of our commitment to player growth. You can read more about the origins and success of this program here.

Term 2 Schedule

Skills Academy

The Skills Academy is a ‘user pay’ system which run throughout Terms 1-3. Sessions are open to all Pine Hills FC U6-12 players who want to further progress their skills. Sessions will focus on ball mastery and the four core skills:

1. First touch

2. Striking the ball

3. Running with the ball

4. 1v1

Due to the Thursday scheduling, these sessions do clash with the girls’ normal team training but would suit the U8-9 non-select players as they only train on Tuesdays. Further information can be found here

Holiday Clinics

Pine Hills FC offers mixed and girls only clinics during all school holidays periods. These are ‘user pay’ sessions which have a similar focus as the Skills Academy, working on ball mastery and the four core skills. Further information can be found here.

Goalkeeper Development

Pine Hills FC provides specific goalkeeper development training for U8-U17 players. Experienced coaches are used to organise and deliver these sessions. Players are grouped according to age groups and then skill level where needed.During this program, we develop the basic goalkeeper skills, including the various handling/catching and diving techniques. We also look to improve the player’s footwork and agility.

Goalkeeper training is conducted on Tuesdays, Field 4 at the following times:

U8-U13 – 6:00-6:30pm – straight after regular team training

U14-U17 – 5:30-6:00pm – straight before regular team training
