Coaching Expectations and Support

 

Pine Hills Football Club strives to provide players from all age groups with a safe training and playing environment, to promote their enjoyment, and to improve their knowledge and skills in the game.

 

To support these aims we outline the following set of coaching expectations and the club’s commitment to supporting coaches in the delivery of these aims.

Duty of Care

Ensure all players are treated respectfully and their safety and well being is a priority on all occasions.

 

Provide reminders about duty of care in planning for training and coaching documents.

Ensure all coaches have or apply for Blue Card.

Ensure a site first aid procedure is in place and the coach has access to online first aid informational support.

 

Enjoyment

Act in a way that encourages player enjoyment for the game of football

 

Support coaches in ways to promote player enjoyment

Training

Prepare training sessions to meet the needs of the team. It is preferred that coaches document their planning.

Provide resources to support coaches plan to meet the needs of the team.

Provide templates and sample training sessions to support coach planning for the different age groups and ability levels.

 

Expertise

Endeavour to improve their knowledge of and skills in coaching.

Provide resources and expertise to support the development of coaches.

Provide coach development sessions to support coaches of all levels.

Games

Prepare for game day using appropriate planning tools.

Ensure their personal conduct and behaviour is of the highest standard and serves as a role model to other adults and players.

Note and record any parent behaviour that may harm the reputation of the club and upset players or parents from either team

Provide planning tools to support game day preparation.

Provide guidelines for coaching conduct and behaviour.

 

Follow up on any reports of inappropriate parent behaviour at training or games with their relevant coordinator.

Attire

Wear a club shirt or tracksuit top when representing the club.

Provide a club shirt or tracksuit top for coaches to wear when representing the club at training, coaching and similar occasions.
